Visadoc is a new kind of digital marketplace for the freelancing, knowledge-intensive, professional community within the migration sector. To help you understand how Visadoc marketplace works, please read the following carefully before you make your first listing.

The pandemic has forced companies from all sectors across Australia to get remote working. Remote working is not very different from working a gig. on the Visadoc platform, the gigification of knowledge-intensive work is carried out as deliverables.

A deliverable is an outcome, a document or a product.

In the knowledge work context such as in accounting, consulting, legal, research, administration or writing, trust is a critical factor as the work itself is highly complex. Clients will often want to meet, talk and discuss their matters before entrusting the service provider with their deliverable.

On the Visadoc platform, we facilitate the gigification of the knowledge work in three synergetic ways.

One, by enabling listings that can be unpacked into structured tasks or a specified outcome that can be measured objectively.

Two, by providing a secure and powerful third-party escrow payment facility.

And three, an implementation of a review system that collects information and feedback from past clients.

Visadoc platform is a new way of carrying out knowledge work in the pandemic-landscape. Meetings and phone calls to build trust and understand one another will no longer be necessary as migration professionals focus their resources on delivering specified tasks efficiently. Clients can engage service providers based on the comprehensive information as listed on the posting, with the support of an escrow payment system and review network.

Service providers

Service providers must create professional profiles as they join the platform. As service providers, professionals can post a listing, based on the identified market needs in their specialised field.

Service providers can build their profile and reputation in the Visadoc community through reviews from the feedback of each task completed.

Clients

Users can join as basic members and hire a migration professional for a particular service or deliverable.

As clients, you can browse through the current listings and hire a migration professional based on your needs.

You can check the professional’s ability and capacity to deliver by checking their profiles and reading their reviews. (Reviews may take some time to build as we’ve only just launched this platform in May 2022).

Creating listings

In a digital marketplace, the service aspect of knowledge work (such as accounting, migration, consulting or legal work) is offered in a very much itemised catalogue fashion.

Like picking an ice cream flavour from a colourful and well-informed menu, knowledge-intensive service providers can unpack their services into a number of various listings, allowing clients to hire them without any further clarification.

Service providers can create as many listings they need to display their entire menu of services. one listing is per type of service. For example, “Individual annual tax return lodgement”.

From a client’s perspective, the information contained in the listing heps them decide whether they should hire you for a professional service To create a successful listing, you will need the following components:

  1. An attractive, high quality and professional image that conveys the work that will be done, your area of expertise or of the service provider themselves
  2. A reasonable price that suits the service offered (you will also be required to set up your bank account details for payment), and
  3. An informative outline of the service you are offering.

The informative outline is expected to include:

  • what specifically will be delivered
  • when it will be delivered (for e.g. within 2 weeks of work request)
  • what steps will be undertaken once the client requests your services
  • what paperwork and information is required from the client
  • other outcomes and expectations

You may also use this space to describe your understanding of the client’s (anticipated) needs and how they will be approached.

the client can only hire and engage you on the platform if the information in the listing makes it easy for them to do so.

A large part of whether a client will consider you as a potential service provider will be based on the information provided on your professional profile page. You may want to use that space to convey your level of experience, area of expertise, approach and interests together with high quality, professional image of yourself.

Invite users to ask questions or comment below the listing. Edit the details of your listing as required if you continue to receive any frequently asked questions.

The listings remain indefinitely in the marketplace, even if you are hired for the advertised service (unless you close the listing).

Payment

Once a service provider is hired by the client, the payment as made by the client will be secured with Stripe, a secure and powerful third-party escrow payment system.

When the service provider completes the service and requests payment, the client will be notified to release the task payment. once released by the client, the payment is then securely transferred to the service provider’s nominated bank account within 7 business days.

Fees

It is free to sign up to the marketplace platform.

Visadoc charges a service fee for each task the service provider offers which can range from 10 – 20% of the task price. Tax is also included in this fee.

To the client hiring the service provider, a small variable booking fee is charged, once the request is accepted.

All charged fees are transparent. Both service and booking fees are costs involved with running the Visadoc marketplace and community. The fees are reinvested into the platform, ensuring the smooth running and growing of Visadoc as well as developing the technology around secure payment systems and other critical opportunities.
